Overview

Veterinary Group of Chesterfield offers a $2,500 travel stipend for clinical year externships. An externship at an NVA hospital will give veterinary students the unique opportunity to understand the day‑to‑day operations of a practice and gain valuable hands‑on clinical experience in a supportive, high‑quality environment.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gather patient histories, perform physical examinations, create treatment plans, and conduct diagnostics and dentistry services.
• Observe, assist, or perform surgical procedures and manage patient care.
• Use communication skills to interact with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Qualifications and Program Details

All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate. Externship durations range from two to eight weeks, depending on schedules. Students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for the travel/living‑expense stipend.
