Abqpetcarehospital offers an externship opportunity for veterinary students in Missoula, Montana. This experience allows students to gain hands-on clinical experience while managing medical care of patients and engaging with a medical team.

Externship Overview

An externship experience at an NVA hospital will give students the unique opportunity to understand the day-to-day operations of the practice, and to gain valuable hands‑on clinical experience.

• Observe, assist, or perform surgical procedures
• Manage medical care of patients
• Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients

Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate in NVA externships.
