Job summary

Zoetis is seeking a Lab Technician 1 in California to perform routine laboratory tests that support animal health diagnostics. You will prepare specimens, operate analyzers and maintain detailed records according to Zoetis SOPs.

The role involves working with veterinarians and lab staff to ensure high quality results. The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with 1–2 years in a clinical lab preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Proficiency in multiple test areas such as hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, endocrinology, parasitology or cytology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for testing across hematology, urinalysis, serology, chemistry, endocrinology, parasitology, cytology and coagulation.
• Operate high-throughput analyzers, microscopes and other diagnostic equipment on various sample types.
• Set up tests, review results and release findings per SOPs.
• Maintain logs, QC and environmental records; ensure proper waste handling.
• Prepare specimens for shipment to offsite facilities in compliance with regulations.
