Job summary

Zoetis, Inc is seeking a Lab Tech 2 to perform routine laboratory tests and support diagnostics for animal health. You will prepare specimens, operate analyzers, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced Global Diagnostics lab.

The role requires 2–3 years in a clinical lab, strong knowledge in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, endocrinology, parasitology, and cytology, and experience with listed analyzers. Shift is 9:30am–6pm, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors degree required; Equivalent combination of education and work experience in a clinical laboratory in lieu of degree accepted.
• Requires 2-3 years of practical experience in a clinical laboratory setting, including performing tests and other laboratory operations.
• Proficient knowledge in Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Endocrinology, Parasitology, and Cytology preferred.
• Preferred experience with Advia 2120i, Immulite 2000 XPi, AU680/5800, Clinitek Advantus, or Stago STarT.

Responsibilities

• Prepare biological specimens for testing across departments (hematology, urinalysis, serology, chemistry, endocrinology, parasitology, cytology, coagulation).
• Operate high-throughput analyzers, microscopes, and diagnostic equipment for diverse sample types (blood, serum, urine, feces).
• Set up tests, review results, and release findings per SOPs.
• Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on analyzers as scheduled.
• Troubleshoot at least one major department analyzer.
• Review daily QC reports and weekly Levey-Jennings charts.
• Handle and store specimens per SOPs.
• Maintain a clean, organized lab workspace.
• Dispose of biohazardous waste per regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain laboratory logs (maintenance, environmental, cleaning).
• Log and track medical records, courier logs, and manifests.
• Prepare specimens for shipment to offsite facilities per DOT standards.
• Receive, store, and log lab and office supplies.
• Operate secondary lab equipment (centrifuges, pipettes, heating blocks, slide stainers).
• Follow Zoetis SOPs and training modules.
