Job summary

Zoetis is seeking a Lab Technician 1 to perform routine laboratory tests supporting animal health diagnostics in a fast-paced lab environment. You will prepare specimens, operate analyzers, and maintain accurate records under the Global Diagnostics division.

This role requires attention to detail, proficiency with lab equipment, and good communication in English. It is a full-time on-site position in California with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Proficient in one of the following: Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Endocrinology, Parasitology, Cytology.
• Experience with IT and LIS systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare biological specimens for testing in various departments (hematology, urinalysis, serology, chemistry, endocrinology, parasitology, cytology, coagulation).
• Use high-throughput automated analyzers, microscopes, and other diagnostic equipment to test sample types like whole blood, serum, urine, and feces.
• Set up and execute laboratory tests, review results, and release findings per SOPs.
• Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on analyzers (daily to monthly).
• Maintain logs and records including maintenance, environmental, and cleaning logs.
