Oregon State University’s Oregon Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician 2 to provide technical support in necropsy specimen processing, diagnostic testing, and histology. The role includes maintaining records, equipment upkeep, quality control, and assisting veterinary students and staff.

Responsibilities involve supporting pathologists, handling samples, and applying standard procedures in a dynamic, safety‑conscious lab environment.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology or Microbiology; OR two years of MLT experience with reagents and tests AND one of: technical trainee experience as a Laboratory Assistant, certified Laboratory Assistant training, or certificates/associates in MLT training.
• Knowledge of basic medical and diagnostic lab methods and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of computerized record systems.
• Knowledge of general office procedures.
• Ability to interact clearly with the public, including students.
• Ability to be thorough and detail-oriented.
• Ability to function in a busy, noisy, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to adhere strictly to SOPs.
• Commitment to inclusive excellence.

• Perform necropsies and collect diagnostic specimens.
• Process, package, and distribute laboratory samples.
• Maintain specimen records and update LIMS.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and quality control.
