Job summary

Michigan State University’s Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory seeks a skilled histology technician to prepare tissues, embed and section samples for slide production. You will perform stains, IHC, and in-situ methods on FFPE or frozen tissues, both automated and manual, while maintaining turnaround times.

You will manage data entry into Cerner, track block archives, and work with clinicians and researchers to troubleshoot submission issues and ensure QA/QC compliance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in histology or chemistry gained in college/technical training.
• Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) preferred.
• Experience with histochemical procedures and slide preparation required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, trim, embed, and process tissues for slides by automated or manual methods.
• Perform staining, immunohistochemistry, and related tests on FFPE or frozen samples.
• Enter data into Cerner and manage block archives with accurate records.
