Job summary

Alpharetta Veterinary Specialty + Emergency (AVSE) in Alpharetta, GA is seeking a full-time Clinical Operations Manager (LVT/RVT/CVT/VTS) to lead Emergency and Specialty teams. Four 10-hour shifts, salary $80k–$85k+ with a $5k sign-on/relocation bonus for qualified candidates.

You will partner with hospital leadership to optimize staffing, training, and workflows, while mentoring staff and advancing high-quality patient care within a collaborative hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician with LVT/RVT/CVT/VTS credential.
• Minimum 3 years of management experience, including leading a team of 50+ staff.
• Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring and team development skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Fluent English speaking and reading skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the Emergency and Specialty clinical teams while maintaining high standards of patient care.
• Partner with Hospital Director and Medical Director to set clinical goals and improve workflows.
• Mentor Veterinary Technicians, Assistants, and clinical leaders.

• Manage schedules for technicians and assistants; monitor staffing needs and coverage across services.

Alpharetta Veterinary Specialty + Emergency (AVSE) is seeking a full-time Clinical Operations Manager to lead our Emergency and Specialty Services teams in Alpharetta, GA. This leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician who enjoys mentorship, team development, and supporting high-quality patient care in a specialty and emergency hospital.

As Clinical Operations Manager, you’ll work closely with hospital leadership to support daily clinical operations while helping Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and clinical leaders grow professionally. You’ll play an important role in staffing, training, workflow improvement, employee engagement, and the continued development of a collaborative hospital team.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Clinical Operations

• Lead the daily operations of the Emergency and Specialty clinical teams while maintaining high standards of patient care
• Partner with the Hospital Director and Medical Director to establish clinical goals, improve workflows, and support hospital initiatives
• Serve as a resource and mentor for Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and clinical leaders
• Promote a collaborative culture centered on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Manage schedules for Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants
• Monitor staffing needs and help ensure appropriate team coverage across clinical services

Training and Professional Development

• Work closely with the hospital’s Training Manager to develop and implement onboarding, training, and competency programs for clinical team members
• Assist with coordinating training sessions, educational materials, attendance records, and continuing education opportunities
• Conduct regular meetings focused on performance, employee development, morale, wellness, and professional growth
• Ensure clinical team members receive the training, resources, and support needed to succeed in their roles
• Encourage ongoing development of technical and leadership skills
• Assist the Training Manager with administration of the Veterinary Student and Veterinary Technician externship program

Staff Leadership

• Establish clear expectations and provide coaching, performance feedback, and accountability for clinical staff
• Collaborate with supervisors and department leaders to address staffing needs, workflow challenges, and operational priorities
• Support employee engagement, retention, and career development
• Model a professional, positive, collaborative leadership style and the hospital’s core values

Collaboration and Hospital Support

• Participate in bi-weekly leadership meetings with the Hospital Director, Medical Director, and department leaders
• Conduct weekly meetings with the Hospital Director regarding hospital staffing and provider needs
• Assist with planning and conducting staff continuing education opportunities
• Serve as a key member of the Education Committee
• Support hospital-wide initiatives related to patient care, staffing, equipment, operations, and quality improvement
• Perform additional leadership responsibilities as assigned

  Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician, including LVT, RVT, CVT, or VTS credential, required
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience required, and a minimum 1 year of experience managing a team of 50 or more employees required
  • Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and team development skills
