Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health is seeking an Overnight Emergency Veterinary Assistant in Alpharetta, GA. This full-time role covers 7pm–7am with three 12-hour shifts per week.

Compensation ranges from $22 to $29 per hour based on experience and certifications, plus a $2/hour shift differential and up to $750 sign-on bonus. You will triage and stabilize emergency patients, administer medications, monitor vitals, and support procedures while delivering outstanding client service and compassionate patient

Qualifications

  • 2 years working in veterinary medicine, preferably in emergency medicine.
  • Strong communication skills with clients and team members.
  • Fluent English (speaking & reading) required; multilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Triage, assess, and prioritize incoming emergency patients.
  • Stabilize and monitor critically ill or injured patients.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
  • Assist with emergency procedures, diagnostics, surgery, and anesthesia support.
  • Monitor vital signs and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Provide nursing care, wound management, and post-operative support.
  • Communicate with pet owners regarding treatment plans and aftercare instructions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and support staff to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Provide compassionate care to patients and emotional support to families.

As An Overnight Emergency Veterinary Assistant, You Will

  • Triage, assess, and prioritize incoming emergency patients

Requirements For The Role

  • 2 years working in veterinary medicine, preferably in emergency medicine.
  • Understand all basic veterinary knowledge, including triage, restraint, diagnostic imaging, phlebotomy, venipuncture, anesthesia induction/monitoring/recovery, drug calculations, medication administration, laboratory equipment and procedures, etc.
  • Attention to detail alongside strong communication skills with both clients and team members
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role, fluency in multiple languages a plus.
