Job description

Irondequoit Animal Hospital is in search of a full-time Veterinary Receptionist to join our growing team

Our Ideal Candidate:

An upbeat, self-starter who pays great attention to detail, is able to work as a cohesive part of the team, and performs well in a fast-paced environment with a passion for providing excellent customer service. Our team is focused on creating a welcoming and educational environment for clients and pets. This experience begins when the client walks through our door and speaks with our Veterinary Receptionist. A full-time position requires working between 30-40 hours per week, including a combination of day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Job Duties:
  1. Communicating via phone, email, and in person with clients and actively listening to their concerns.
  2. Utilizing computer information systems to accurately enter client/patient information, and update and maintain medical records.
  3. Processing client payments and invoices.
  4. Strategically scheduling and confirming appointments with clients.
  5. Precisely dispensing pharmaceuticals as needed and calling in prescriptions to pharmacies.
Job Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; AAS or higher degree preferred.
  • At least 6 months of customer service experience.
  • Veterinary hospital experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and perform tasks involving squatting, reaching, standing, and walking throughout the day.
