Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Shift Lead to perform CSC and veterinary assistant duties while providing leadership across shifts. You will coordinate paraprofessional staff to maximize productivity, client care and hospital flow.

The role emphasizes educating clients on Optimum Wellness Plans, preventive care and hospital services, while supporting leadership in ensuring safety and quality care for pets.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or veterinary technician certification/licensure preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Two years experience (healthcare, veterinary profession, service-type industry, etc.) required, with six months experience at Banfield preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Medical background (veterinary technician, human healthcare, pharmaceutical, etc.) with medical terminology training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as Shift Lead to perform CSC and/or veterinary assistant/technician duties while providing leadership on 20% of time.
• Recruit, guide and coordinate paraprofessional staff to maximize productivity and client care.
• Educate clients about wellness plans and hospital services; manage client visits and hospital flow.
• Assist with surgery as applicable and ensure safety in treatment areas; monitor hospitalized pets.
