Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital seeks a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring safety for pets, clients and staff while maintaining high-quality care. You will apply NAVTA-aligned skills daily within state acts and NAVTA guidelines.

You will help maintain patient flow, communicate with the veterinary team, and educate clients about preventive care and wellness plans, while mentoring others and upholding hospital standards.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent education/experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain flow of patients and assist veterinarians and vet techs.
• Communicate with veterinarians and vet techs to coordinate care.
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards to keep pets safe and areas clean.
• Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and preventive care.
• Mentor other hospital team members.
