Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring safety for pets, clients, and staff while upholding high-quality care. You will help manage patient flow, communicate with the veterinary team, and prepare procedures as needed.

As a Vet Assistant, you will educate clients on preventive care and Optimum Wellness Plans, and you may mentor other team members. A NAVTA-certified program or equivalent and a high school diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program certificate or equivalent providing required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure patient safety and quality care.
• Maintain workflow by assisting with patient flow and coordinating with vets and techs.
• Carry out or set up procedures not requiring veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards to keep pets safe and areas clean and organized.
• Educate clients about preventive care and our Optimum Wellness Plans.
• Mentor other hospital team members to support a collaborative environment.
