Job summary

Florida Veterinary Referral Center (FVRC) in Estero, Florida, seeks a Cardiologist to join our 24/7 specialty and emergency referral team. In this full-time role, you’ll manage complex cardiac cases, perform diagnostic imaging, and collaborate with ER, ICU, and specialty teams to deliver high-level veterinary care.

Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree required.
  • Eligibility for state veterinary licensure in Florida.
  • Board Certification in Cardiology (DACVIM) required or pending.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical and interventional cardiology care for complex cases.
  • Perform and interpret echocardiograms, thoracic radiographs, ECGs, and Holter monitoring.
  • Support ER echocardiograms and cath procedures on call as needed.
  • Collaborate with overnight ER and ICU teams for inpatient cardiac care.
  • Pursue mentorship and cath lab training across the network.
  • Work with veterinarians, technicians, and staff to deliver compassionate care.
  • Communicate clearly with pet owners in stressful situations.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture focused on collaboration and learning.

Education

DVM or equivalent veterinary degree
Eligibility for state veterinary licensure

In your day to day, you will:
  • Provide medical and interventional cardiology care, including diagnosis and management of complex cardiac cases
  • Perform and interpret echocardiograms, thoracic radiographs, ECGs, and Holter and telemetry monitoring
  • Participate in on call coverage for ER echocardiograms and cath procedures as needed
  • Collaborate with overnight ER and ICU teams to support inpatient cardiac care
  • Access ongoing mentorship and training opportunities, including cath lab experience across the network
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations

What You Bring
  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure
