We are looking for a full-time veterinary assistant/technician with experience to join our team.

The Veterinary Assistant / Technician is responsible for preparing, assisting, and monitoring patients for exams, treatments, and surgeries. This overview of the position is not limited to the duties listed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Knowledge of proper animal restraint methods
• Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting methods, and the use and care of cleaning materials and equipment
• Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment efficiently
• Perform moderately heavy physical labor
• Empathetically and compassionately treat sick and injured animals
• Learn to administer medications and recognize abnormal conditions
• Understand and follow oral and written directions
• Maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues and clients
• Maintain a neat and professional appearance
• Education: Equivalent to completion of 12th grade
• Experience: At least four years in a veterinary hospital preferred

Major Goals:

• Be efficient, pleasant, courteous, and helpful to clients at all times
• Keep the office organized for smooth client flow
• Recommend necessary laboratory work, vaccinations, and products for patient care
• Counsel clients on behavioral, nutritional, and health issues
