The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing high-quality repair services on equipment to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring, and timely manner, ensuring maximum value for work performed.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
- Use hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools, instruments, and laptops.
- Understand basic manuals, schematics, parts books, and installation instructions.
- Maintain basic working knowledge of engine and compressor systems.
- Troubleshoot systems for errors.
- Achieve mastery level knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools, laptops, diagnostic software, and cranes and rigging equipment.
- Complete assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat rate times and re-do metrics.
- Work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete jobs (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, BMTS) accurately and timely.
- Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and write routine reports and correspondence.
- Proficiency in basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculations involving percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagrammatic form and solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Knowledge of database software, internet software, and order processing systems.
- Clean driving record for field assignment.
- Must be at least 21 years old to operate field vehicle.
- May require DOT physical and MSHA certification.
- Flexibility to work various schedules.
Physical and Work Environment
The physical demands include standing, walking, using hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, sitting, and smelling, with specific vision requirements. The work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, humidity, heights, fumes, weather conditions, electrical shock, vibration, and moderate noise levels. Travel up to 95% is required, and this is a remote work position.
