Job summary

Bel-Aire Veterinary Hospital in Greensboro, NC is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for clients and patients across all hospital care aspects.

The role involves varied duties including exams, surgeries, dentistry, and outpatient support, with a schedule of 4x10 hours, Monday–Friday, no weekends or holidays. The clinic emphasizes compassionate care and quality client communication.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of veterinary assistant or related clinical experience preferred; training considered for the right candidate
• Proficiency in anesthesia induction and monitoring, dental prophylaxis, radiography
• Proficiency in cystocentesis and IV catheter placement
• IV/IM medication administration, microscope evaluation, and in-house diagnostics
• Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members

Responsibilities

• Split time between exam room, outpatient, and surgical caseload support
• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Induce and monitor anesthesia as directed
• Perform dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs
• Assist with cystocentesis, IV catheter placement, IV/IM injections, and microscopy
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Explain treatment plans and discharge instructions to clients
• Build positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
• Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces clean and prepared
