Qualifications

• 1+ years of veterinary assistant or related clinical experience preferred; training considered for the right candidate
• Proficiency in anesthesia induction and monitoring, dental prophylaxis, radiography
• Proficiency in cystocentesis and IV catheter placement
• IV/IM medication administration, microscope evaluation, and in-house diagnostics
• Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members

Responsibilities

• Split time between exam room, outpatient, and surgical caseload support
• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Induce and monitor anesthesia as directed
• Perform dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs
• Assist with cystocentesis, IV catheter placement, IV/IM injections, and microscopy
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Explain treatment plans and discharge instructions to clients
• Build positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
• Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces clean and prepared

Bel-Aire Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care.

We are seeking dependable, motivated candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitask efficiently, anticipate team needs, and take pride in delivering exceptional support throughout every stage of the patient visit. Training is considered for the right candidate with a strong foundation and the drive to grow.

In this position, you will take an active role in:

• Splitting time between exam room, outpatient, and surgical caseload support
• Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, and surgical procedures, including patient prep, setup, and recovery
• Performing anesthesia induction and monitoring as directed by the veterinary team
• Performing dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs
• Assisting with cystocentesis, IV catheter placement, IV/IM injections, and microscope evaluation
• Providing safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
• Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $17.00 – $19.00 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is afull-time position, with a4 x 10 schedule, Monday–Friday.No weekends and no holidays.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:
