Job summary

Mead Veterinary Medical Center in Mead, Colorado, seeks an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support client and patient care across exams, treatments, surgery, dentistry and outpatient procedures.

This role offers a 5/8 schedule with Monday–Friday availability and rotating Saturdays, plus a benefits package and up to a $500 bonus depending on experience. Pay ranges from $21 to $22 per hour for full- or part-time work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant preferred.
• Proficiency in client communication and education.
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, blood draws and outpatient procedures.
• Experience with surgery set-up and assisting.
• Radiology positioning and safety protocols.
• Medication administration and accurate drug calculations.
• Safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures and dentistry.
• Providing safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care.
• Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures.
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately.
