Job summary

5280 Veterinary Care in Denver, CO is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative hospital. You’ll support veterinarians and technicians, assist with exams, surgeries, dental procedures, and client education to deliver gold-standard care.

We offer $23–$25/hour, four 10-hour shifts, rotating evenings and Saturdays, health/dental/vision, 401(k) match, PTO and holidays, and an Employee Assistance Program.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent veterinary assistant experience.
• Experience assisting veterinarians and technicians with dental procedures including radiography.
• Strong patient handling and restraint skills.
• Experience with lab sample collection, radiology, medication administration, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical assistance.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and credentialed technicians during appointments, treatments, surgeries, and dental procedures.
• Safely restrain patients for examinations and procedures.
• Prepare exam rooms and surgical suites with high cleanliness standards.
• Collect lab samples such as blood, urine, and fecal specimens.
• Administer medications and vaccines under supervision.
• Take and process diagnostic radiographs.
• Maintain accurate medical records and educate clients on treatments.
