Job summary

Elk Creek Animal Hospital is hiring Veterinary Assistants for our Fisherville and Mt. Washington locations. This full-time position offers a 4-day work week, with rotating Saturday shifts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians and technicians during appointments, treatments, and procedures.
  • Safely handle and restrain patients using compassionate techniques.
  • Obtain patient histories and record vital signs.
  • Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment for patient care.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory samples as directed.
  • Assist with in-house laboratory testing and diagnostic procedures.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments under supervision.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked exam and treatment areas.
  • Educate clients regarding basic care instructions and hospital services.
  • Collaborate with doctors, technicians, assistants, and receptionists to keep the hospital running smoothly.

Status: Full-time
Salary: Competitive and based on experience
Schedule: 4-day work weeks with rotating 4-hour Saturday shifts. No nights, weekends, or holidays!
Locations: Elk Creek Animal Hospital of Fisherville and its Mt. Washington satellite location

Elk Creek Animal Hospital is looking for compassionate, dependable Veterinary Assistants to join our well-established team. Opportunities are available at our Fisherville hospital and our Mt. Washington satellite location. Team members will be hired for and primarily work at their assigned location; this is not a floating position between the two hospitals.

What Our Veterinary Assistants Do

  • Assist veterinarians and technicians during appointments, treatments, and procedures
