We are a growing multi‑specialty emergency and specialty veterinary practice located in beautiful Portland, Maine. Our services include Emergency & Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Dermatology, Neurology, Cardiology, and more.

Anticipated Schedule

This is a full‑time position.

  • Schedule Tuesday-Friday 8-6:30 or Monday-Thursday 8-6:30
  • Some holidays are required {when applicable}

Job Responsibilities

As a Cardiology Veterinary Technician you’ll work closely with our board‑certified cardiologist to support patients throughout their treatment—from diagnosis through follow‑up. You’ll be a steady, compassionate presence for both patients and families.

  • Administer medications and chemotherapy under the supervision of an oncologist
  • Assist with diagnostics, including lab work, imaging, and CT scans
  • Support oncology appointments and help manage patient flow and scheduling
  • Maintain accurate medical records, treatment notes, and drug logs
  • Provide empathetic client communication and education
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Radiology
  • Deliver emotional support and patient‑centered care during every step of treatment
Qualifications
  • Veterinary Assistant with veterinary experience
  • Experience in specialty medicine and/or cardiology preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Confidence working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment
  • Familiarity with veterinary medical software (e.g., EzyVet, SmartFlow) a plus
