Job summary

The Veterinary Assistant at Banfield Pet Hospital supports veterinarians and technicians to ensure safe, high-quality care for pets, clients, and colleagues. This role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to safety standards, and delivering exceptional service in a busy clinical setting.

You will educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, help maintain clean treatment areas, and mentor other team members while contributing to high-quality preventive care and client education in Raleigh, NC.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant skills to aid practice efficiency.
• Technical skills applied daily within state practice acts and NAVTA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the flow of patients through the hospital.
• Communicate with veterinarians and vet technicians.
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet technician assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards that keep pets safe and maintain clean, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
• Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and preventive care.
• Mentor other members of the hospital team.
• Provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service at all times.
