Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital in Raleigh, NC seeks a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, educate clients on pet health, and help maintain a clean, safe hospital environment.

You will assist with procedures, manage medical charts, and communicate effectively with the team while upholding the Five Principles described by Banfield. Prior NAVTA training and strong English skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Certificate of NAVTA approved Veterinary Assistant program, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure quality care.
• Educate clients about pet health and preventive care.
• Prepare and assist procedures per state practice acts.
• Maintain medical charts and client information.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of hospital areas.
• Assist with surgery as applicable.
