Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant in Garner, NC to support veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensuring the safety of pets, clients, and staff while maintaining high-quality veterinary care. You will help manage patient flow, communicate with the care team, and assist with procedures that don’t require direct veterinary involvement.

Ideal candidates will have NAVTA-approved VA program certification (or equivalent) and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain the flow of patients.
• Communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs.
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards to keep pets safe and areas clean.
• Educate clients about preventive care and wellness plans.
• Mentor other team members.
