Banfield Pet Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians and to help ensure safe, compassionate care for pets. You will educate clients on preventive care and wellness plans while maintaining clean, safe hospital areas and assisting with routine procedures as needed.

Ideal candidates have NAVTA-approved training and a high school diploma, with a focus on teamwork, patient care, and strong communication within a busy veterinary setting.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure safe, quality care.
• Help maintain flow of patients and communicate with the vet team.
• Assist with procedures that do not require veterinarian or tech assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards to keep areas clean and safe for pets.
• Educate clients about preventive care and wellness plans.
• Mentor other hospital staff as needed.
