Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering quality care for pets. You will educate clients on preventive care, assist with procedures, prepare equipment, and maintain a clean, safe hospital environment.

You will follow NAVTA guidelines, assist with exams and surgeries as appropriate, monitor hospitalized and surgical patients, and mentor junior staff while upholding high professional standards.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication.
• Certificate or training from NAVTA approved Veterinary Assistant program.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure quality care.
• Educate clients about pet health, preventive care, and hospital services.
• Prepare and assist procedures, and maintain sterile treatment areas.
• Monitor hospitalized or surgical patients as allowed by state acts.
• Mentor paraprofessionals and support efficient hospital workflow.
