Job summary

Stonyridge Veterinary Service in Troy, OH, part of Thrive Pet Healthcare, seeks a Veterinary Assistant to join a team providing compassionate care for cats, dogs, and pocket pets. This full-time role requires Monday–Friday availability with 4–10 hour shifts and no weekend work.

You will support veterinarians, maintain medical records, manage client communications, and uphold clean, organized treatment areas while ensuring top-quality patient care and client service.

Qualifications

• At least one year of recent experience in a veterinary practice environment.
• Ability to restrain patients properly.
• Experience documenting detailed information in medical records.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
• Ability to work without direct supervision while meeting deadlines.
• Strong client service and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality care and educate clients.
• Assist with hospital functions to maximize productivity and patient flow.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records with practice systems.
• Obtain health history from clients and maintain medical charts.
• Keep treatment areas and labs clean, sterile, and organized.
