National Veterinary Associates is seeking a veterinary assistant to be the team’s primary support in patient care and hospital operations. You will assist with patient care, monitor hospitalized pets, and help with diagnostic tests while maintaining a clean, organized hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Self-starter, able to multitask and a team player.
• Genuinely enjoys working with animals and can handle them when stressed, ill or in pain.
• Prefer 1+ years of experience, but not required.
• Ability to meet physical demands: lift up to 40 lbs, stand/bend for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and treatment.
• Monitor hospitalized pets and assist in post-surgical care.
• Maintain inventory and stocking.
• Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims.
• Assist with routine diagnostic tests including radiographs, bloodwork, and fecal checks.
• Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments/equipment.
• Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, and treatment areas.
• Administer medications under supervision.
• Help with feeding and bathing animals.
• Answer phones and assist clients with their pets.
