National Veterinary Associates is seeking a veterinary assistant to support the care teams across the hospital. You will help with patient care, monitor recovering pets, manage supplies, restrain animals for procedures, and assist with diagnostics and medications under veterinary supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Self-starter, able to multitask and a team player.
• Genuinely enjoys working with animals and can handle stressed or ill animals.
• Prefer 1+ years of experience.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs and restrain animals with assistance as needed.
• Able to walk or stand for extended periods and work in a clinical team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and treatment.
• Monitor hospitalized pets and aid after surgery.
• Maintain inventory and stocking.
• Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims.
• Assist with routine diagnostic tests (radiographs, bloodwork, fecal).
• Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments/equipment.
• Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, and treatment areas.
• Administer medications under supervision.
• Feed and bathe animals.
• Answer phones and assist clients with their pets.
