Job summary

National Veterinary Associates is seeking a veterinary assistant to support the entire team in delivering high-quality client and patient care. The role includes assisting with patient care, monitoring hospitalized pets, restraining animals for procedures, and helping with routine diagnostics in a busy practice.

You will maintain equipment and assist in daily hospital operations, including cleaning, sterilization, and client interaction.

Qualifications

• At least 1+ years of experience in a general practice setting
• Must be 18 years old or older
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job including lifting up to 40 lbs
• Willingness to restrain animals when needed and work with stressed or ill animals
• Comfortable multitasking and collaborating with a hospital team

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and treatment
• Monitor hospitalized pets and aid in post-surgery recovery
• Maintain inventory and stocking
• Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims
• Assist with routine diagnostic tests (radiographs, bloodwork, fecal)
• Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments/equipment
• Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, and treatment areas
• Administer medications under supervision
• Feed and bathe animals
• Answer phones and help clients with their pets
