Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital seeks a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring patient safety and the continuity of high-quality care in a busy hospital setting.

You will educate clients about preventive care and NAVTA guidelines, while mentoring fellow staff and contributing to a collaborative care environment that prioritizes pets and their families.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program certificate or equivalent education/experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to perform all required NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program skills to aid practice efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain the flow of patients.
• Communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs.
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards that keep pets safe, and the treatment areas, exam rooms and labs clean and organized.
• Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and preventive care.
• Mentor other hospital team members.
