Job summary

Lovet Pet Health Care is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our growing animal hospital. You will support the doctor during procedures, interact with clients, and help manage medical records and treatments for our patients.

The role requires comfort with animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Certification as a veterinary technician is preferred, as is an associate degree in veterinary assisting.

Qualifications

• Ability to assist the doctor with medical procedures under supervision.
• Comfortable interacting with animals and their guardians.
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
• Certification as a veterinary technician is preferred.
• An associate degree in veterinary assisting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor with medical procedures, under direct supervision, and help create positive impressions with clients and their pets.
• Provide written and verbal communication to clients about their pet’s care and treatments, and obtain consent when needed.
• Deliver WOW customer service to clients and their pets.
• Manage medical records through the practice management software.
• Assist with dispensing medications, performing x-rays, blood draws, catheter placement, sample collection, vaccines and animal restraint.
• Set up, breakdown, cleaning and maintenance of medical equipment.
• Assist with cleaning all areas of the hospital.
