Job summary

Lovet Pet Health Care is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our growing animal hospital. You will assist doctors with medical procedures, including surgery, and provide exceptional care to pets while delivering WOW customer service to clients.

You will support pre-anesthetic protocols, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative care, communicate treatment plans to clients, manage medical records, and help with imaging, vaccines, and routine procedures.

Qualifications

• Certification as veterinary technician preferred.
• Associate degree in veterinary assisting preferred.
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor with medical procedures, including surgery, under supervision.
• Provide high-quality customer service to clients and pets.
• Assist in pre-anesthetic, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative care.
• Explain treatments and obtain consent from clients.
• Manage medical records through practice management software.
• Dispense medications, perform x-rays, blood draws, catheters, and vaccines; assist with restraint as needed.
• Set up, clean, and maintain medical equipment; keep hospital areas clean.
