Ethos Veterinary Health—Pet+ER in Hunt Valley, Maryland seeks a Veterinary Assistant for our 24/7 emergency and critical care team. This full-time role offers $16–20/hour with a collaborative, learning-focused environment where you work alongside clinicians, technicians, and specialists.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering exceptional patient care.
• Safely restrain and handle patients using low-stress handling techniques.
• Obtain patient histories from pet owners and communicate relevant information to the medical team.
• Accurately obtain and record patient weights and vital signs.
• Assist with triage by recognizing urgent patient needs and following hospital protocols for critical patients.
• Prepare injections using aseptic technique for administration by veterinarians or veterinary technicians.
• Collect, package, label, and properly store laboratory samples.
• Assist with routine examinations, treatments, and hospitalized patient care.
• Monitor patient comfort and behavior, communicating changes to the clinical team.
• Maintain treatment areas, exam rooms, and hospital cleanliness.
• Assist with inventory management and communicate supply needs.

In your day-to-day, you will:

• Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering exceptional patient care.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of veterinary experience.
