Job summary
Banfield Pet Hospital seeks a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in delivering quality pet care and to advocate for pets. You will educate clients on wellness plans, obtain histories, and maintain medical charts while supporting procedures and patient safety.
The role emphasizes strong communication, organization, and computer skills with flexible hours including weekends or evenings.
Qualifications
- Must be able to perform all required NAVTA approved veterinary assistant program skills to aid practice efficiency.
- Must be at least 18 to perform radiography duties.
- One year related customer service experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure quality pet care and maximize productivity.
- Educate clients about wellness plans, preventive care and hospital services.
- Obtain client/patient information and maintain complete medical charts.
- Ensure safety and cleanliness of treatment areas, rooms and labs.
- Assist with procedures and monitor hospitalized or surgical pets as allowed by state acts.
