Banfield Pet Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring the safety of pets, clients and associates while maintaining high-quality care. You will help manage patient flow, communicate with clinicians and assist with routine procedures, following NAVTA guidelines.

Qualified applicants typically hold a NAVTA-approved program certificate or equivalent, with a high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Vet Assistant provides professional, efficient and exceptional service at all times, ensuring clients and pets are comfortable in the hospital.
• Help maintain the flow of patients and communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs.
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards to keep pets safe and the treatment areas clean.
• Educate clients about preventive care and wellness plans.
• Mentor other members of the hospital team.
