Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in medical and surgical procedures as needed.
• Take histories, vital signs, and weights during outpatient exams and educate clients.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor during procedures.
• Collect samples and perform in-house lab work; prepare specimens for outside labs.
• Take, develop and maintain radiographs following safety procedures.
• Provide basics of animal handling and restraining during exams.
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Keep exam rooms and equipment clean and stocked; assist with client interactions.
• Demonstrate warmth and professionalism in all client and patient interactions.
