Job summary

Osage Animal Hospital in Osage Beach, MO seeks a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians with patient care, monitoring hospitalized pets, preparing prescriptions, and assisting with surgeries.

You will perform in-house lab work, radiographs, client education, and maintain inventory, with weekend availability and ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Benefits include health/dental/vision, PTO, retirement, and more.

Qualifications

• Ability to work on weekends as required.
• Previous veterinary experience preferred.
• Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; with assistance if over 25 pounds.
• OSHA safety techniques and PPE.
• Basic math for dosage calculations.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office).
• Strong communication to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in veterinary medicine and surgery as needed.
• Take histories, vital signs, and weights during outpatient exams and educate clients.
