Job summary

Broken Arrow Veterinary Hospital in Broken Arrow, OK seeks a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians with patient care, monitor hospitalized pets, and assist with surgeries. The role includes lab work, client education, and ensuring a calm environment for patients and clients alike.

Requirements include weekend availability and prior veterinary experience preferred. You will assist with radiographs, medications, and setting up rooms while maintaining inventory and professional client

Qualifications

• Weekend availability required.
• Prior veterinary experience preferred.
• Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds; assist with heavier lifts.
• Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE.
• Basic math and dosage calculation.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office).
• Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatment.
• Monitor hospitalized pets and maintain inventory.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vitals during procedures.
• Obtain samples and perform in-house laboratory testing.
• Take radiographs following safety procedures.
• Provide基本 animal handling and restrain during exams.
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Keep exam rooms and labs clean and restocked; assist with client discussions.
