Job summary

The Southside Veterinary Clinic in Bixby, OK is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in patient care, monitor hospitalized pets, and assist with surgeries.

You will educate clients about care, maintain inventory, perform in-house lab work, and ensure safety. Weekend availability may be required; benefits include PTO, health/dental/vision, retirement, and bonuses; pay range $12-$15 per hour.

Qualifications

• Assist veterinarians in medicine and surgery as needed.
• Take histories, vital signs, and weights; educate clients.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vitals during surgery.
• Obtain samples and perform in-house laboratory work.
• Take radiographs following safety procedures.
• Handle and restrain animals during exams.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and anesthesia as directed.
• Restock and clean exam and lab areas; keep equipment clean.
• Demonstrate warmth, professionalism with clients and patients.
• Communicate with veterinarians and team; discuss patient plans.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
