Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital Leesville is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, educate clients, and maintain a safe hospital environment. The role includes assisting with procedures, preparing for surgeries, and ensuring pets are comfortable during visits.

The candidate should have NAVTA-approved training (or equivalent) and at least 1 year of customer service experience; weekend/evening hours may apply.

Qualifications

• NAVTA approved Veterinary Assistant program completion or equivalent experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be 18+ to perform radiography duties and have related customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and technicians to ensure quality care.
• Educate clients on pet health and preventive care.
• Communicate with team to maintain patient flow and safety.
• Assist with procedures and prep work under supervision.
• Mentor other paraprofessionals in the hospital.
• Adhere to safety and sanitation protocols in treatment areas.
