Salty Paws Veterinary Hospital in Yorktown, VA is hiring an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to support our veterinarians and care for our patients with Fear Free techniques.

This full-time role offers a 4-day work week (no weekends), competitive pay based on experience, comprehensive benefits, 401(k) matching, tuition support, and generous PTO. You will assist during examinations, restrain animals, perform lab tasks, monitor vital signs, educate owners, and help maintain clean exam rooms.

Qualifications

• Experience in animal handling and restraint required.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology.

• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to become Fear Free certified (paid for by the hospital).
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift [Weight] lbs with assistance.
• Veterinary technician licensure welcomed but not required.
