Paws & Claws Animal Hospital is a full‑service veterinary clinic located in Wilmington, NC that provides medical, surgical and dental care for cats, dogs, exotic animals and injured wildlife.

Our staff are professional, courteous and committed to delivering the best possible care while promoting responsible pet ownership, preventive health care and educational opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Restrain pets and triage incoming patients.
• Collect and analyze lab samples, perform diagnostic imaging and provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases.
• Administer medications and manage anesthetic protocols.
• Communicate treatment plans effectively with clients.
• Assist with surgical preparation and other procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment; be prepared for unpleasant odors, noises, bites, scratches and potentially contagious diseases.
• Engage in virtual and hands‑on training and continuing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1‑year experience.
• Compassionate, calm, a team player, multi‑tasker and strong communicator.
• Properly restrain pets and perform sample collection.
• Knowledge of medical histories, laboratory tests, radiographs and anesthesia monitoring is a bonus.
• Self‑starter with a desire to grow and advance knowledge and skills.

Pay Range

$15–$19 per hour based on experience.
