Job summary

VCA SylvaniaVET Animal Hospital in Sylvania, OH is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to support patient care and improve the client experience. This fast-paced, team-oriented environment values Fear Free handling and high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Veterinary Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatments.
• Safely restrain pets for exams and procedures using Fear Free techniques.
• Prepare exam rooms and surgical suites.
• Support anesthesia and surgical procedures as needed.
• Collect samples and assist with in-house laboratory diagnostics.
• Administer medications directed by the DVM.
• Perform basic husbandry and nursing care for hospitalized patients.
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
• Educate clients on general pet care, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment.

Compensation

Pay range is $15 - 18/hr and is negotiable based on experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and other relevant credentials.

The Role

What You'll Do
