Job summary

Wilton Animal Hospital in Kentucky is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to join a compassionate, team‑oriented care team. This role focuses on hands-on patient care, client service, and supporting a busy veterinary team.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting preferred.
Strong animal-handling and patient-care skills.

Responsibilities

Assist with patient care, handling, restraint, monitoring, and comfort
Obtain patient histories and other relevant patient information
Assist veterinarians and technicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
Collect blood, urine, and other diagnostic samples as directed
Perform basic diagnostic testing, including blood work and urinalysis, based on experience
Prepare laboratory samples for analysis
Prepare, clean, sanitize, and maintain exam rooms and treatment areas
Clean and maintain medical equipment and supplies
Maintain complete and accurate patient records and treatment documentation
Provide exceptional customer service and help build positive client relationships
Educate clients regarding patient care, treatment plans, medications, and preventive care
Collaborate with doctors, technicians, assistants, and reception team members to maintain an efficient daily workflow
Jump in wherever needed to support excellent patient and client care

What Our Veterinary Assistants Do
