Job summary

Wilton Animal Hospital in Kentucky is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to join a compassionate, team‑oriented care team. This role focuses on hands-on patient care, client service, and supporting a busy veterinary team.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient care, handling, restraint, monitoring, and comfort
  • Obtain patient histories and other relevant patient information
  • Assist veterinarians and technicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
  • Collect blood, urine, and other diagnostic samples as directed
  • Perform basic diagnostic testing, including blood work and urinalysis, based on experience
  • Prepare laboratory samples for analysis
  • Prepare, clean, sanitize, and maintain exam rooms and treatment areas
  • Clean and maintain medical equipment and supplies
  • Maintain complete and accurate patient records and treatment documentation
  • Provide exceptional customer service and help build positive client relationships
  • Educate clients regarding patient care, treatment plans, medications, and preventive care
  • Collaborate with doctors, technicians, assistants, and reception team members to maintain an efficient daily workflow
  • Jump in wherever needed to support excellent patient and client care

What Our Veterinary Assistants Do
