Winsted Hospital for Animals is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join a growing team in Connecticut. This full-time position supports veterinarians and technicians, handles patient histories, and helps maintain a clean, organized hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians during wellness, illness, and surgical appointments.
• Obtain patient histories and document medical information accurately.
• Safely restrain patients during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Assist with patient treatments, nursing care, and diagnostic procedures.
• Support laboratory testing and sample collection.
• Assist with surgical preparation and patient recovery.
• Maintain accurate patient medical records.
• Keep hospital areas clean, organized, and stocked.
• Provide compassionate client communication and education.
• Help maintain an efficient daily workflow throughout the hospital.
