Job summary

Companion Animal Veterinary Clinic in Northeast Nebraska is seeking a compassionate team member to assist with dog and cat care and client communications. You will help feed, medicate, bathe, exercise dogs, and support staff while keeping facilities clean.

There is a part-time schedule with a 3pm-6:30pm shift, 2-3 days per week and rotating weekends/holidays. Contact [e-mail] for applications.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents and communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
• Basic math skills including making change.
• Ability to multitask and pay attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Feeding and medicating animals.
• Walking dogs at least 3 times daily.
• Bathing and general animal care.
• Assisting staff with restraining animals and other duties.
• Cleaning and disinfecting all animal holding areas.
• Maintaining general cleanliness of all facilities.
• Household chores including dish washing and laundry.

Job description

Qualified candidates will be experienced in and able to effectively handle and work with dogs & cats with varying behaviors and temperaments. Proper handling and understanding of animal behavior is a requirement. All pet care attendants must have a willingness and modest attitude, along with a stellar work ethic and ability to work as part of a team.

General duties include:

• Feeding and medicating animals
• Walking dogs at least 3 times daily
• Animal care such as bathing
• Assisting other staff members in restraining animals and other duties
• Clean and disinfect all animal holding areas
• Maintain general cleanliness of all facilities
• Household chores including dish washing and laundry.

Schedule: 3pm-6:30pm 2-3 days per week. Rotating weekends and holidays are required.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret documents efficiently, as well as an ability to communicate written and verbally effectively with customers and fellow employees.

Basic mathematical skills including being able to make change
