Alliance Animal Health in New Canaan, CT, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support patient care and daily operations. You will maintain clean exam rooms, assist with treatments, and help restrain pets during procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year veterinary assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe hospital environment and support patient care.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, kennels, and equipment.
• Restrain pets safely for examinations and procedures; assist with diagnostics and medications.
• Support hospital operations and workflow as needed; adapt to daily needs.
• Be prepared for exposure to odors, noises, bites, scratches, animal waste, and contagious diseases.

Job description

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient hospital environment while supporting patient care and daily operations.
• Duties include cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining exam rooms, treatment areas, kennels, and equipment to ensure a hygienic and organized workspace.
• The position also involves safely and effectively restraining pets for examinations, treatments, and procedures, assisting with diagnostic imaging, and accurately administering medications in accordance with prescribed treatment plans.
• Team members are expected to support overall hospital operations and workflow as needed, contributing to a collaborative and high-quality standard of care.
• Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises.
• May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

We're looking for:

• An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.

• Clean, sanitize, and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, kennels, and equipment to ensure a safe and hygienic hospital environment.

Pay Range:

$20-$23/hr
