Job summary

Allianceanimalhealth is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician Assistant to support animal care across a busy clinical setting. The role involves patient restraint, triage, sample collection, lab analysis, imaging, nursing care, and assisting with anesthesia and surgical prep.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Veterinary Technician Assistant experience preferred.
• Experience with large animals is a plus but not required.
• Ability to multi-task and communicate clearly with clients and team.

Responsibilities

• Restrain pets safely and humanely as needed.
• Triage incoming patients and manage nursing care for medical/hospitalized cases.
• Collect and analyze lab samples; perform basic radiographs and assist with imaging.
• Prepare for surgery and assist during anesthesia and operative procedures.

Job description

Job duties include, but are not limited to: Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

• An experienced Veterinary Technician Assistant with a minimum of 2-years experience preferred.
• Experience working with large animals is a plus , but is not required.

• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
